class descriptions
Beginner Yoga :
This basic yet powerful yoga class will help ground and center you, uplift and clear your body/mind. With basic and highly effective yoga poses, breathwork and guided relaxation you will unwind tight muscles, destress a tired mind & build energy and strength inside. Good for beginners or those wanting to re-acquaint themselves with the practice, or those who want a simple sweet yoga class!
Begins March 6.
This class will take the place of our popular Yoga Basics series and become an ongoing weekly class open to all!
Gentle Yoga:
A very calming & deep yoga class to de-stress, center & breathe deep. Supportive poses combined with basic posture sequencing helps to open, strengthen & re-align body & mind.
Gentle Yoga for Healing:
The focus varies from class to class; and may include supported yin yoga practice, as well as standing poses for balance and stability, inversions such as downward dog and shoulder or arm balances for musculoskeletal and endocrine system toning, supported backbends for spinal flexibility and some yoga flows for sheer joy.
Emphasis is on the core (bandha), nervous system cleansing (nadi), breath of life (pranayama) and constitutional modifications to facilitate true yoga (union) for a spectrum of practitioners.
Blissful Flow Yoga :
Taking the basic elements of our previous back bliss class to another level. Highly nurturing supportive poses to help re-align and release tension in the spine coupled with posture sequencing to help stimulate strength and balance and more opening! Truly a class that will leave you blissful with body & mind. Open to all levels.
Open Yoga (Mellow):
A generous class, spending time unlocking hips, shoulders & spine. Holding poses for deeper sensation and energy helps students learn and explore a variety of poses and more variations. Give the mind & body a welcome break with a mellow vibe in yoga!
Open Yoga: (Mixed levels)
A moderate class with a fine balance between the gentle openers & the invigorating poses, flows & holds...for those new and practiced students...feel free to further the intensity level or even take it down a notch.
Jai Friday Yoga w/ meditation:
A balanced class of opening supportive/restorative postures with revitalizing posture sequencing & flows... all to awaken & prepare the body for quiet meditation & the weekend! Class explores welcome challenge to help liberate the body and ample time to de-stress and release. Some fun non-yoga music usually is present!!! A great class for the end of the week!
Honey Flow:
Yum, deep long holds invoking the qualities of yin yoga helping to dissolve tensions in body& mind. Balance this with slow sweet posture flows (vinyasas) and begin to expand energy into all the cells of your body & spaces in your mind. The yin qualities add a great meditative form to the practice, while the vinyasa invokes strength, heat & prana.
Vinyasa Yoga:
A mindful Vinyasa practice linking breath to movement unifying the body, mind and spirit. This class incorporates Kundalini yoga and sun salutations to warm and prepare the body for deeper openings & rejuvenation. Build endurance, stamina, strength and flexibility with this uplifting and sacred time with your Self!
Soul Power
Taking your practice a little deeper, working to peel away layers of resistance, fear, and numbness with energy, breath & mindful focus.
We'll take postures a little further, explore pranayama in perhaps new ways, and hieghtne consciousness of Self with meditative practices.
At times we may super-charge our flows for endurance & balance or maybe choose to hang out with willful intensity and let the openings and energy rise. This class is open to all levels, it can be vigorous in nature so students are encouraged to work at thier own pace.
Yoga for Pregnancy (prenatal):
Creating fertility and preparing for birth. This class offers a natural way to connect with your womb and create positive energy for you, your child and your birthing experience. No experience necessary.
Kirtan: FREE!
With Sally Noel & Sal Annunziato & Friends! Kirtan is a yoga gathering where we chant the many names of the divine energy. Chants are typically in Sanskrit, invoking unusual power to quiet the mind and penetrate the heart with love. Chants are led in call and response ranging from meditative to grooving, creating joy and peace! Very fun, no experience necessary. donations accepted thank you.
Sally was first exposed to Kirtan while living at Kripalu, greatly inspired by her teacher Indukanta, Sally quickly fell in love with the freedom chanting created, and the beautiful journey kirtan offers. Sal is a yoga teacher/rock musician whose great talent both vocally, musically (he plays guitar) and uplifting spirits led him to kirtan and the power it has for feeling euphoric!!

Studio is also available for renting for various workshops & classes. Wood floors, 100 blankets, blocks and yoga straps available for use. Room can hold up to 40 people.
